Embedded Technologies, ETCorp, has been trialing what's claimed as world-first technology in automation control, in an aquaculture project. The project, to evaluate a General Purpose Automation Controller (GPAC) was run in cooperation with a Curtin-Muresk Institute researcher who was interested in treating water to optimise the environment for prawn aquaculture. Having gone past the proof of concept stage, ETCorp is now ready to launch the product, which is available as a basic system for less than $10,000.
